Careers at Adharshila

As an organization based in a remote tribal setting, we operate eighteen primary centers (called Satellites) and one high school, mostly serving to the Saharia first generation school going adivasi children. Our small family includes around 1000 children and 40 teachers. A team of young dreamers, we believe in child centric progressive education, and strive towards making schooling a process of developing a critical thinker.

The job requires the candidate to live, along with other staff members, in Agara which is a village far from modern urban facilities. It is tough to live with one’s job but it offers a rare opportunity to learn and grow. The work culture of Adharshila offers all the space to implement new ideas and see them develop and bear fruits.

The applicant must have a masters degree and a professional training (BEd/MEd) and a few years experience in administering an educational institution.

 

Teacher at Adharshila High School

A good teacher is always welcome at Adharshila. The primary requirement to become one is that you must have unconditional love for children. Secondarily an applicant should have a graduate degree and a competent professional degree (BEd or DElEd). An experience of teaching is also welcome.

Remember that our school is in a remote village and so you must be ready to spend your employed life in a village away from the facilities and benefits of a city or metro, wherever you live.

The Adharshila Fellowship

The Adharshila Annual Fellowship offers you a chance to be in a tribal dominant area, and work with a well-established organization, as a full-time fellow. Not only the fellow gets to implement their ideas of teaching and learning with children and teachers, they also can understand the area and the context as a primary source.

Selection process

Post applying, the candidates will go through a three-stage recruitment procedure, involving a written questionnaire, a face-to-face interactions and a field visit.

Opportunities

The fellows get to implement their ideas of teaching and learning with children and teachers. They also can understand the area and the context as a primary source. They are mentored to evolve implement and evaluate their idea. 

Timeline

It’s a full-time one year fellowship beginning July 2020.
